    PPK Mining Equipment specialises in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of underground mining equipment, tooling, and consumables for mining and related industries. 

    Our company is rapidly expanding and we are currently looking for a Full-Time Apprentice Workshop Fitter to commence January 2025! 

    The role is perfect for individuals looking to undertake an approved Mechanical Trade qualification and develop their skills alongside a supportive working environment. 

    We have a large, clean and modern workshop in Emerald, with plenty of space and parking.

    Duties include but are not limited to: 

    •  Working in conjunction with leading hands and tradespersons to accomplish customer deadlines and quality control. 
    • Carrying out workshop repairs in a hands-on role with direction from tradespersons and leading hands. 
    • Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to and correct safety equipment is used at all times. 
    • Attending TAFE as required, and any additional courses or work experience nominated by your supervisors. 
    • Maintaining accurate job files when required and ensure your apprentice logbook is maintained. 
    •  Ensuring all parts, oils, and consumables are booked to the correct job and that excess or unused parts are credited and returned to the warehouse.

    You will be joining our established team including our Fitters, Field Service, Stores and Admin team members. 

    Skills and experience 

    We’re looking for individuals with the following skills and qualifications:

    •  Undertaking an approved Mechanical Trade Qualification 
    •  Current Driver’s Licence or car availability. 
    • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices. 
    • Excellent communication skills. 
    •  Great aptitude for learning.
    •  Positive attitude 
    • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medial assessment, including drug and alcohol testing, an essential requirement of PPKME employment conditions.
